    Best Driver

Best Labs company contacted Vilmate with the request to assist in developing an application for parcel deliveries. The app consists of two main clusters: a mobile application for drivers and a web portal for traffic managers.

    Team: 1 back-end developer, 1 front-end developer, 1 project manager, 1 QA engineer, 1 designer
    Cooperation model: Time & Materials
    Industry: Parcel delivery
Tech stack: python, react, react native

    Client Testimonials

Now we will get some real feedback...

Well done team, Ukraine + Sweden! We achieved a milestone today!
Production did their first real full run. 30+ parcels. From the web it all looks to go very well.
Now we will get some real feedback.
All should be proud of your hard efforts and persistent work. It's a great app!

    Challenge accepted

The main task for the team was to develop a mobile application that would be intuitive for drivers of any age and experience. The functionality goal was to provide the driver with a clear list of orders that the driver must complete with the help of the navigation map, where drivers can also track their location and the priority of deliveries.
Another challenge was to develop a web portal that integrates with a mobile application. In the web portal, the traffic manager should be able to manage drivers, create a list of orders, optimize the route, track drivers on the map, and maintain real-time communication to be informed on any changes during the order completion.
Also, one of the obstacles for the team was to ensure that the mobile app ran smoothly, particularly on Zebra devices, which serve as the primary platform for custom use. And the existing service system Sync was to be integrated with the app seamlessly for end users. All under-the-hood processes had to interact flawlessly.

    Solution provided

Once we’ve agreed upon the design and the general view of the mobile app, the team worked out the technical infrastructure of the project. Python and React Native fit best for this purpose with their functionality set. After that, we tied in the web portal and assured its stable connectivity.

The number of actual drivers/app users is quite massive. The communication between them and the traffic managers required a reliable instant messaging service and an intense data flow between both. We presented a minimalistic chat for additional clarity, along with the maps integration and a user-friendly navigation interface.

The integrity of the operational processes in the system is powered by AWS, PostgreSQL, Google Maps, and MapBox, as well as certain features from the client side, like Opter, City Flow, and HERE SDK.

“I’m looking forward to keep on working with Vilmate”

A great technical team and a great partner we’ve been lucky to come across. We have been working together for many years and I’m looking forward to keep on working with Vilmate...

They are “our team” – not “Vilmate's team” and I like that a lot!
